Two teams looking for their first win of the season squared off in Abel Stadium this afternoon in Lincoln, Neb. Nebraska Wesleyan University led 30-0 at halftime en route to a 44-7 victory.
The Prairie Wolves racked up 526 yards of total offense, with 344 coming by air and 182 on the ground. Quarterback Connor White connected on 20-of-26 attempts for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Trystiin Myers ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.
Aiden Damiani scored Luther's touchdown, capping off a 10-play, 75-yard drive, with a one-yard plunge early in the fourth quarter. Damiani finished the afternoon with 25 yards on eight carries.
Trent White led the rushing unit with 37 yards on 12 carries.
Tyler Ragan once again led the defensive unit with a game high 14 tackles.
William Whalen was next with nine followed by
Christopher Jones and
Jermarion Williams with six each. Jones was also credited with blocking an extra point attempt and 1.5 sacks. Dane Peterson was also credited with 1.5 sacks.
