MANKATO, Minn. and NEW ULM, Minn. - The Luther volleyball team (4-10) went 1-1 on Saturday facing Bethany Lutheran College (7-5) and Martin Luther College (1-11). The Norse started the day falling to the Vikings in straight sets 8-25, 23-25, 21-25, and bounced back with a victory over the Knights winning 25-23, 25-18, 25-19.

The Vikings hit .289 in the match to sweep the Norse. Luther was led by
Annika Franzen with eight kills followed by
Liv Glumack with six.
Azaria McDonough had 20 assists. Defensively,
Victoria Gomez had 13 digs while
Lindsay Hanson and McDonough each had eight.Â
Game 2 New Ulm, Minn.: Luther 3, Martin Luther 0
In the second meeting this season between the two teams the Norse swept the Knights. Luther's hitting percentage of .218 was the third highest in a match this season.Â
Ruby Gerhard led the attack with 10 kills and two blocks. Franzen followed with eight kills on 16 attempts with one error hitting .438 for the match. McDonough had 24 assists.Â
On defense, three players tallied double-digit digs including
Jenna Langen (11),
Ella Goodnight (10), Gomez (10).
Luther has won the last four meetings against the Knights.Â
