The Luther College men's tennis team dominated at the 2025 American Rivers Conference Individual Tournament that was held in Waverly, Iowa and Waterloo, Iowa Sept. 19-20. The tournament was played at two different sites due to weather during the weekend.
This also marked the final appearance for the Norse at the tournament. Next year, Luther will be a new member of the Midwest Conference.
The top-three flights of singles play were all won by Luther.
Joao Benvenutti claimed the Flight A title after defeating Bryton Short of Coe in a third set tie breaker (5-3, 1-4, 10-3)).
Juan Hernandez Herrera also stood on the podium with a third place finish.
The Flight B singles champion was
Geoffrey Stoughton. Stoughton defeated John Gustafson of Wartburg in the title match (4-2, 4-2).
Gennaro Dimuro placed third.
Nirbhay Chhabra won the Flight C singles title defeating Horia Popa of Loras (5-4(8-6), 4-1) in the championship match.
The Norse swept the podium in Flight A doubles.

Gregor Gottein and
Jake Nelson (6-4) in the title match.
Rhys Biro-Moore and
Geoffrey Stoughton finished third.
The Flight B champions were
Anuj Pal and
Dikshan Chhikara who defeated Landon Murch and Logan Augustine of Wartburg (6-4).

Luther has one more event on the fall schedule. The Norse will travel to Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., for the ITA Midwest Regional that will take place Sept. 26-28.
