The Luther men's tennis team moved up from no. 38 to no. 36 in the latest national team poll by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on May 13. The Norse advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament after defeating no. 67 Rose-Hulman on May 7 by a score of 4-0 in Chicago, Ill. in the first round. A loss to the no. 1 team in the nation University of Chicago (0-4) the Norse finished the year with a 22-4 overall record, 8-0 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C). Luther was also crowned the A-R-C regular season and tournament champion for a final time as they will move to the Midwest Conference next season.
In the regional rankings from the ITA the Norse duo of Joao Benevnutti and
Abhay Chhabra remain at no. 10 in the Central Region. That last time that poll came out was on Apr. 29.
