SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Luther men's soccer team upset the no. 12 nationally ranked University of Wisconsin-Superior 1-0 to open the 2025 season. Enzo Mitidieri scored a goal via a penalty kick scoring in the right side of the net in the 14th minute of the first half. The Norse are now 1-0 overall. 

Luther led the game with 13 shots compared to nine by UW-Superior. Five of those shots by the Norse were on goal. 

Mitidieri had three shots total with two on goal. Enrique Lopez Barriga also tallied three shots. Aitor Lopez made three saves in goal. 

Up next Luther will face St. Scholastica on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. in Duluth, Minn.
