The men's basketball team opened the American Rivers Conference schedule at Wartburg College this evening. The game marked the 146th meeting between these two teams dating back to 1954. Wartburg entered the game with a record of 6-1 and Luther was 4-2.

The Knights blistered the nets in the first half shooting 63 percent and led 46-29 at the break. In the final 20 minutes of play the Knights outscored the Norse 28-27 en route to a 74-56 victory. 

Owen Bockenstedt led the Norse with 19 points. Bockenstedt was 7-of-13 from the field that included a 5-of-9 effort from beyond the three-point line. Henry Kreckman produced a double-double collecting a game high 14 rebounds and scoring 10 points.

The Knights had four players in double figures led by Austin Bienemann who scored a game high 20. Ethan Yungtum had a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Luther will return to action this Saturday, Dec. 6 when it will host Nebraska Wesleyan University. Tip-off will take place at 4 p.m.
