The 2025 Luther Open is in the books. The Norse had 20 wrestlers compete in the Elite Division and 11 in the Silver Division this afternoon. No team scores were kept. The Norse had five place (top-8) in the Elite Division headlined by No. 5 ranked Clayton McDonough (165) and No. 4 ranked Connor Kidd (133). 

McDonough improved to 12-0 after posting a 5-0 record this afternoon that included two falls and one tech fall. He defeated Cooper Willis of Augsburg College in the title match (7-6). His route to the title match included falls over Jackson Turner of Hawkeye Community College (:45), fall over Kaiden Knaack of Wartburg College (2:45) and a tech fall over Braylon Griffiths of Loras College (18-0). In the semifinal match he defeated Carter Martinson of Wartburg (8-3). With his five wins, he is now 116-28 for his career. His win total currently ranks seventh on Luther's all-time win list. 

Kidd finished the afternoon 4-1 and lost to Brody Neighbor of Coe due to injury default at (3:34) in the title match. Kidd posted falls over Drake Schmidt of Westminster (4:52), Jadob Regan of Coe (1:20) and Chase Beckett of Minnesota State (:51). in the semifinals he defeated Te'Andre Allen of Quincy (3-1). Kid is now 8-1 for the year and 71-34 for his career. 

Also placing for the Norse included Patrick Gugala-Reinders (125) who finished eighth; No. 14 Bryce McDonough (174) who finished fourth; and Griffin Schultz (197) who placed eighth. 

Placing in the Silver Division included Owen Milder (165) and Bejamin Helminski (197) who both finished eighth.
