DECORAH, Iowa — The Luther men's soccer team (6-2-7, 3-0-4 A-R-C) tied 1-1 with Nebraska Wesleyan (5-6-5, 3-2-2 A-R-C). Both goals were scored in the first half.
The Prairie Wolves were on the board first in the 20th minute when Franklyn Herasme scored. The Norse respond in the 38th minute as
Matthew Sale passed it to
Nels Mortenson who fired it into the back of the net to level the score at 1-1.
During the second half, Nebraska Wesleyan out shot Luther 7-5. In the 46th minute, a shot by Max Matthies forced
Aitor Lopez to make the save. Mortenson and
Joseph Mulindwa had shots that were framed on target in the 54th and 59th minute but the Prairie Wolves goalie Graedon Hilton. The game would end in a 1-1 draw.
The Norse have already clinched a spot for the American Rivers Conference tournament but will have to wait until the end of the regular season to determine seeding.
