WINONA, Minn. - The Luther volleyball team dropped a five-set thriller with Carleton to open the Sugar Loaf Classic hosted by St. Mary's (MN) (25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 13-15). Three Norse hitters were in double digits including
Sarina Stortz (19),
Emily Hagen (12), and
Ruby Gerhard (10). Luther is now 2-3 on the season.
The Norse hit .455 in in the first set for the best mark of the season.
Emma Kowalczyk and
Kyah Olson-Sola each set season highs with 41 assists and 24 digs.
Victoria Gomez had 19 digs and Kowalczyk had 12.
Carleton is now 4-2 overall.

The Norse continue the Sugar Loaf Classic in Winona, Minn. on Saturday, Sept. 7 with matches against the Milwaukee School of Engineering at 9 a.m. followed by Bethany Lutheran College at 1 p.m.
