No. 23 Luther hosted No. 1 Wartburg College tonight and was defeated 37-10. This was the conference opener for the Norse while the Knights improved to (3-0) in the league.
Wartburg recorded bonus points in six of the 10 matches en route to the victory.
Caden Schrage (141) pulled the Norse to within four points (10-6) early in the match, with a fall over Alexis Tellez-Perez (4:41). The fall was the first of the season for Schrage who leveled his second record to 6-6.
Nationally ranked No. 13
Bryce McDonough (165) posted the other victory for the Norse. He defeated Chase Hamstron by major decision (15-4). McDonough is now 8-2 for the year.

Luther will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 14 when it will host UW-Stevens Point and Cornell College for a triangular. The Norse will wrestle UW-Stevens Point at 2:30 p.m., followed by Cornell College at 4:00 p.m. UWSP and Cornell will begin the afternoon at 1:00 p.m. These matches will take place in the Robert and Ann Naslund Sports and Recreation Center.
