CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced the 2023 All-Conference team for women's soccer.
Kaitlyn Bebensee,
Maggie Haller, and
Emma Lin were named All-Conference while
Makayla Haddorff and
Ken Vavrichek were named honorable mention.
The Luther women's soccer team finished the regular season with a 8-7-4 overall record and 4-3-1 in A-R-C play. The Norse earned the No.3 seed for the A-R-C Tournament. They defeated Wartburg 1-0 before ending the season at Simspon in the semifinals.
Kaitlyn Bebensee (West Des Moines, Iowa / Valley) - Defender
Bebensee appeared in all 19 games of the season to earn her first All-Conference nod after an honorable mention selection in 2022. She was credited with two goals, including her first collegiate goal on Oct. 4 at Simpson. The defender also had three assists for seven point.
Maggie Haller (Minneapolis, Minn. / DeLaSalle) - Forward
Haller becomes the 10th player in program history to earn All-Conference four times in her career. She played in every game and led the offense with eight goals and ten assists for 26 points.
Emma Lin (Des Moines, Iowa / Roosevelt) - Midfielder
Lin earns back-to-back All-Conference honors. The midfielder appeared in 17 games recording two goals and one assist for five points.
Makayla Haddorff ( Eagan, Minn. / Burnsville) - Midfielder
Haddorff was one of two Norse to earn honorable mention. The midfielder scored the game winning goal in the final seconds in the regular season finale against Dubuque on Oct. 24. The 3-2 win would earn Luther the No.3 seed for the A-R-C Tournament.
Ken Vavrichek (Bloomington, Minn. / The Blake School) - Goalkeeper
Vavrichek is an honorable mention selection appearing in 15 games between the posts. The goalkeeper made 41 saves, allowing just 12 goals for a 1.03 goals against average. Vavrichek would end the season with a 7-5-1 record with two shutouts and four combined shutouts.
