Luther Falls In Overtime To Simpson In The First Round of The A-R-C Tournament

INDIANOLA, Iowa — The Luther women's soccer team lost 2-1 to Simpson in overtime in the first round of the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament on Saturday, Nov 1. Sofia Colavita put the Norse up early in the first half with her goal in the 21st minute. Simpson equalized in the 65th minute and at the end of regulation it was still tied 1-1 forcing an overtime period. The Strom scored the game winner in the 96th minute ending the season for the Norse. 

Luther struck first in the 21st minute as Colavita's low shot into the back of the net marked her third goal of the season. Elisabeth Queoff made six saves in the first half as the Norse held a 1-0 lead at halftime. 

In the second half, Ally Hoffa of Simpson tied the game at 1-1 in the 65th minute. The Storm offense had 14 shots while limiting the Norse to two shots. Neither team could score as regulation ended forcing the game into a sudden death overtime period. 

In the 92nd minute, Riley Anderson took a shot from distance but Meredith Downs made the save. Then in the 96th minute, Hoffa scored her second goal of the game which would be the game winner as Simpson defeated Luther 2-1. 

Queoff finished the night with 10 saves which marked a season high. 

Luther ends the 2025 season with a 7-9-2 overall record and 3-4-1 in A-R-C play.
