The Simpson College Storm held Luther to 10 hits during today's double header, three in game one and seven in game two, and swept the Norse 11-3 and 7-2.
In game one, the Norse scored all three runs in the fourth inning.
Charlie Rubendall scored on a wild pitch from third and both
Gavin Scurr and
Joshua Matanich drove in a run.
The Storm jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three and scored two more runs in both the sixth and eighth frames.
In the nightcap, the Norse scored once in both the fourth and seventh innings. Simpson led 3-1 after three, 5-1 after six and the final 7-2 after eight.
Charlie Rubendall and
Jayden Kies were both credited with an rbi.
The Norse are now 10-10 in the A-R-C, 18-16 overall. Simpson improved to 9-11 in league play, 18-16 overall.
These two teams will complete the three-game series tomorrow with a start time slated for 1:00 p.m.
