Luther wrapped up its 2021-22 regular season schedule with a 7-2 home victory over Augustana-Rock Island this afternoon. The Norse won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches to secure the victory.
In doubles,
Ana Olimpio and
Sofia Sackett improved to 14-5 for the year after defeating Lauren Oda and Grace Rider (8-2) at No. 2.
Lexi Hastings and
Renata Martinez defeated Grace Molloy and Mia Reese (8-3) at No. 3 improving their season record together to 5-3.
Shelby Cook and
Julia Moreno at No. 1 were defeated (8-6) by Caitlyn Hanulikova and Lily Schoeck.
Five of the six singles victories were all won in straight sets. Martinez posted an (7-5, 7-6) win at No. 2; Cook won (6-3, 6-1) at No. 4; Olimpio won at No. 5 (6-0, 6-1) and
Riley O'Donnell won at No. 6 (6-0, 6-0). Moreno defeated Oda in a three-set tie breaker (6-2, 4-6, 10-6).

The win gives Luther an overall record of 16-10, marking the 11th year in a row under Head Coach
Adam Strand the Norse have posted a winning dual meet record.
Next, Luther will be the No. 1 seed this week for the
American Rivers Conference AQ Tournament. The Norse earned the No. 1 seed of the six-team tournament after capturing the regular season title with a perfect mark of 8-0. The winner of the tournament earns the league's automatic berth to the 2022 NCAA III National Tournament.
The quarterfinal round will be played on Tuesday, April 26, with the semifinals and championship matches taking place at Luther on Friday and Saturday, April 29-20.
