The Luther College men's tennis team remains unbeaten in the American Rivers Conference following a 8-1 home victory over Loras College this afternoon in the valley. The Norse swept doubles dropping a combined five games and won five of six singles matches in straight sets.
In doubles,
Max Loen and Nyathi Motolojoa defeated Kevin Blomquist and Thomas Kampmier (8-2) at No. 1. The duo is now 20-6 for the year. At No. 2,
Francisco Navarrete and
Luke Westholder defeated Tommy Linkenheld and Konnor Barth (8-2).
Joaquim Fernandes and
Nando Melo posted an (8-1) win over Sean Gelski and Kareem Kassas at No. 3.
Posting wins in singles included Motlojoa at No. 1 (6-3, 6-2); Fernandes at No. 2 (6-2, 6-1);
Dylan Wiemers at No. 3 (6-1, 6-2);
Eli Young at No. 4 (6-0, 6-2); and
Ricky Portilla at No. 5 (6-4, 6-2).

The win gives Luther an A-R-C record of 4-0, 11-9 overall. Loras fell to 3-2 in league play, 9-7 overall.
Saturday, the Norse will travel to Coe College for a match that is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Coe is also undefeated in the A-R-C with a record of 7-0. If the Kohawks win this match they will claim the 2022 A-R-C title.
