Luther improved to 6-3 in the American Rivers Conference following a 6-2 victory over Wartburg tonight in Waverly. The Norse had 10 hits and scored one run in both the third and fourth innings and two in both the fifth and sixth.
Luke Plunkett and
Noah Sebben led the Norse attack. Plunkett was 2-for-5 with 3 rbi, while Sebben was 2-for-4 with 2 rbi. Plunkett drove in a run in the third with a single and drove in two with a double in the fifth. Sebben hit a two-run home run in the sixth.
Peyton Lindmark also had a multiple hit game going 2-for-4 with an rbi.
Tyler Boesel (3-1) allowed one run on three hits in five innings of work and was credited with the win.
Will Angstman pitched the final four frames and allowed one run on three hits and struck out seven.
Luther sits in fourth place in the A-R-C standings and is now 14-9 overall. Wartburg is tied with Coe for second place at 8-4. Loras sits atop the league standings at 7-2.
Luther will host Coe tomorrow afternoon for a single nine inning game that is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
