The men's tennis team improved to 3-0 in the American Rivers Conference following a 9-0 victory over the University of Dubuque. The Norse lost just two games in doubles play, while all but one singles match was finished in straight sets.
In doubles,
Francisco Navarrete and
Luke Westholder defeated Ryan Kiddle and Stefan Zmic (8-1) at No. 1.
Ricky Portilla and
Eli Young posted a (8-0) victory over Josh Husemann and Zach Norman at No. 2.
Aidan Hunter and
Nate Withers won at No. 3 (8-1) over Dawson Freese and Brady McIntyre.
Max Loen played No. 1 singles in this match and battled to a (6-4, 2-6, 10-8) win over Milan Zivkovic.
Joaquim Fernandes at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1), Young at No. 3 (6-0, 6-1),
Nando Melo at No. 4 (6-2, 6-1),
Charlie Weill at No. 5 (6-1, 6-1) and
JP Rosaldo at No. 6 (6-0, 6-1) all won in straight sets.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 8-9.
The Norse will wrap up today's action with a match against regionally ranked No. 11 Carleton College at 3:00 p.m.
