The men's tennis team is in Lake Geneva, Wis., and the Lake Geneva Tennis Club for three non-conference matches. The Norse started the weekend dropping a 5-4 decision to Wheaton College (IL).
The Thunder jumped out to a 2-1 lead following doubles. Nationally ranked No. 9
Max Loen and
Nyathi Motlojoa picked up the lone win (8-5) at No. 1 over Cody Ching and Jack Booker.
In singles, both teams posted three wins. Motlojoa won at No. 1 (6-2, 6-2).
Max Loen and
Joaquim Fernandes won three-set tie breakers at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. Loen defeated Booker (3-6, 6-3, 11-9) and Fernandes defeated Jack Wenzel (6-2, 2-6, 10-7).
The loss gives Luther an overall record of 0-3. Wheaton improved to 1-2.
