The women's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak following a 60-53 come-from-behind victory over Coe College tonight in Cedar Rapids.
Trailing 43-33 after three quarters, a trey by the Kohawks extended their lead to 13 with 8:44 left in the game. The Norse outscored the Kohawks 27-7 the rest of the way that included an 8-of-10 effort at the charity stripe in the final minute of play.
Lizzie Kauls was 4-for-4 down the stretch. Her first two free throws gave Luther it's first lead of the game (54-53) with 43 seconds left on the clock and she capped off the run with two free throws with the scoreboard showing six seconds left to play.Â
Three Norse tallied double digits.
Kristen Elliott had 15 ponts, while
Megan Miller and
Grace Prokosch both had 10.
The Kohawks had four players in double figures led by Ellie Wisner with 15.
The win moved Luther into fifth place in the A-R-C standings with a mark of 4-3, 6-9 overall. Coe fell to seventh place with a record of 3-7, 6-13.
Luther travels to Buena Vista University this Saturday, Jan. 29. Tip-off will take place at 2:00 p.m.
