Luther took one more step towards capturing the title of Pod 1 of the American Rivers Conference Tournament, defeating Buena Vista University 2-0. The Beavers entered the game undefeated in the tournament and now both teams are one win from advancing to Saturday's championship series.

Kendra Cooper (17-5) was handed the ball in the circle and for the second time in as many games tossed a shutout. Cooper faced 26 batters, allowed five hits, walked one and struck out five leading Luther to a 2-0 victory.

Luther scored both of its runs in the third. Hannah Halverson led-off with a walk. Two batter later Elsa Skeie walked to put runners on first and second with one out. Kyal Heydt hit a double and both Halverson and Skeie scored.

The win gives Luther an overall record of 27-14. Buena Vista fell to 19-21.
