No. 8 seed Buena Vista University is one win a way from capturing the title of Pod 1 of the American Rivers Conference Tournament after defeating No. 4 Luther 6-1 in today's final game. The Beavers tallied 13 hits and scored in every inning but two en route to the victory. The double elimination tournament will resume Friday.

Luther's lone run was produced by Elsa Skeie who hit a lead-off solo home run in the sixth.

Luther will now face No. 1 Coe tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. The winner will advance to face BVU and will need to win two games to secure the Pod 1 title.

The loss gives Luther an overall record of 26-14 while Buena Vista improved to 19-20.
