Luther snapped Coe's eight-game win streak posting a 6-3 victory in today's nightcap. The Norse had 10 hits and scored once in the first, twice in the second and three times in the eighth.
Nick Dufoe was credited with the victory throwing eight complete innings. Dufoe allowed one run on eight hits, walked one and struck out eight.
Ross Hingst picked up his second save of the season facing one batter in the top of the ninth. Hingst took over for
Carter Bratland who pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowed two runs on two hits and left with the bases loaded.
Cullen Stamp and Josh Matanich were both 2-for-4 with two rbi.
Joe McKibben and
Luke Plunkett also had multiple hit games going 2-for-3 at the plate. Plunket drove in a run as did
Peyton Lindmark.
The win gives Luther an A-R-C record of 23-7, 27-11 overall. Coe is now 26-4 in league play, 30-5 overall.
These two teams will wrap up this four-game series tomorrow. First pitch for game one will take place at 1:00 p.m.
