Luke Plunkett, and
Joe McKibben drove in two runs each leading Luther to a 5-1 victory in the nightcap of today's double header. The Norse tallied 12 hits scoring twice in the first and one run in the fourth, fifth and sixth frames.
Johns Colucci III held the Knights in check. Colucci pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowed one run on seven hits, walked four and struck out three.
Calvin Brinda threw the final 1 2/3 and allowed just one hit and struck out one.
Multiple hits were produced by
Peyton Lindmark (2-for-4), Plunkett (2-for-4),
Charlie Rubendall (2-for-5) and
Joe McKibben (3-for-5).
The win gives Luther an A-R-C record of 15-3, 19-7 overall. Wartburg fell to 10-12 in league play, 12-16 overall.
