Luther won its fifth game in a row, defeating Buena Vista University 9-6 in game three of this four-game series. The Norse had 15 hits and scored twice in the first and third innings, four times in the fourth and once in the seventh.
Kyle Schnobrich led the attack going 4-for-4 and drove in three runs.
Joe McKibben was 3-for-4 and
Luke Plunkett (2-for-2),
Kelby Johnson (2-for-4) and
Charlie Rubendall (2-for-4) all had two hits.
Calvin Brinda was credited with the win in relief. Brinda pitched 2 1/3 innings and did not allow a run while spreading four hits.
Collin Chalmers picked up his third save of the year throwing three scoreless innings.
Luther improved to 10-1 in the American Rivers Conference, 14-5 overall. Buena Vista fell to 6-9 in league play, 8-12 overall.
