Luther improved to 8-1 in the American Rivers Conference after posting a 2-1 victory over Buena Vista University in Storm Lake this afternoon. This was the first game of the four-game series. The loss give BVU a record of 6-7 in league play.

With the score tied 1-1 after three, Luther scored what proved to be the game winner in the fifth. Following a one-out single by Jayden Kies, two Buena Vista errors led to an unearned run, that proved to be the difference in the game.

In the third, Luke Plunkett drove in a run with a single to left center field that scored Kies who reached with a double down the left field line.

Tyler Boesel (4-0) went the distance on the mound. Boesel faced 25 batters, allowed one run on five hits, walked one and struck out six.
