In game two of the season opening double header, Luther defeated Cornell 11-1 in seven innings. The Norse bats remained hot as they pounded out 10 hits and scored three runs in the first, four in the second, two in the third, and one each in the sixth and seventh innings.
Owen Vander Linden continued to swim a hot bat going 2-for-4 with four RBI. He drove in a run with a single to right field in the first, and hit a three-run home run over the left field fence in the second.
Kelby Johnson and
Joe McKibben also had multiple hit games going 2-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively. Both were credited with an RBI.

The throwing trio of

Carter Bratland allowed seven hits, walked five and struck out nine.
Luther (2-0) will resume action on Sunday, March 14 when it will face St. Mary's University (MN) at U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minn. First pitch of the non-conference double header will be at 9:00 p.m.
