Luther traveled to the University of Northwestern-St. Paul for a non-conference game this afternoon. The Eagles defeated the Norse 13-5.
Northwestern had 18 hits and put seven runs on the score board in the bottom of the first inning. The Eagles added two in the fourth and four in the fifth en route to the victory. Luther tallied 10 hits and scored twice in both the fourth and eighth innings and once in the sixth.
Charlie Rubendall and
Peyton Lindmark led the offensive attack. Both went 3-for-4 at the plate. Lindmark drove in two runs and Rubendall was credited with one rbi.
Kelby Johnson also had a multiple hit game going 2-for-5.
The loss was the first of the year for the Norse who are now 2-1. Northwestern leveled its overall record to 4-4.
Sunday, Luther will travel to Winona, Minn., for a double header against St. Mary's University.
