Luther leveled its overall record to 4-4 after defeating Hamline University 11-6 and sweeping today's non-conference double header.
The Norse did all of their damage in the first three frames, scoring one run in both the first and second innings and nine in the third. In the third, the Norse had seven hits and 14 batters come to the plate. The Pipers scored once in both the fifth and sixth innings and twice in both the seventh and ninth frames.
Peyton Lindmark and Owen Vander Lindern both had three hits. Lindmark drove in two runs and Vander Linden one.
Kyle Schnobrich also had two RBI, while
Kelby Johnson,
Luke Plunkett,
Cullen Stamp and
Charlie Rubendall were all credited with one RBI.
John Colucci III picked up his first win of the year. He threw five innings, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out two.
Luther will begin American Rivers Conference play when it will host the University of Dubuque on Friday and Saturday, March 26-27. This is a four game series and both days action will begin at 1:00 p.m.
