Luther traveled to UW-Platteville tonight and ran into a hot shooting Pioneer team that posted their fifth win in a row by a final of 80-61. The Norse fell behind 10-2 three minutes into the game, but responded with a 23-11 run and led 25-21 at the end of the first frame. The rest of the evening was all UW-Platteville as it outscored Luther 26-15, 15-11 and 18-10 in the final three frames. UWP finished the night shooting 54% from the field and 74% from the free throw line. The Pioneers also won the battle of the boards 41-21.
Kristen Elliott led the Norse with 18 points, two shy of her season high. Elliott was 7-of-14 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
Kailey Jones also tally double digits with 13.
The Pioneers Maiah Domask had a monster evening producing a double-double thanks to 35 points and 16 rebounds. She was 11-of-21 from the field, 12-of-15 from the charity stripe and 10 of her 16 boards were on the defensive glass.
The loss dropped Luther's overall record to 3-7. UW-Platteville improved to 7-3.
Luther will return to American Rivers Conference action this Saturday, Dec. 11. The Norse will host Buena Vista University at 2:00 p.m.
