Luther traveled to nationally ranked No. 11 Wartburg College for a battle of unbeaten in the American Rivers Conference. Tied at 65-65 after three frames, the Knights outscored the Norse 26-18 in the fourth quarter en route to a 91-83 victory.
Both teams shot well from behind the three-point line with Luther making 11 treys and Wartburg connecting on 12. The Norse won the battle of the boards 46-31, but were outscored 23-8 on points off turnovers.
Three Norse tallied double digits.
Kristen Elliott, who led the team with three treys, finished the evening with 20 points.
Megan Miller and
Kailey Jones were both credited with 13. Jones recorded a double-double collecting a game high 13 rebounds.
Lizzie Kauls finished with eight points, while both
Amelia Solum and
Grace Prokosch chipped in seven.
The Knights Jaedon Murphy led all scorers with 26 points. Hannah Anderson and Taylor Runchey both tallied 13.
The loss gives Luther an A-R-C record of 1-1, 3-6 overall. Wartburg remains undefeated with a mark of 2-0 in the A-R-C, 5-0 overall.
Luther will host Nebraska Wesleyan University this Saturday, Dec. 4. Start time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
