The women's basketball team posted its highest point total of the season defeating St. Mary's University 81-56 this afternoon in Winona, Minn. The Norse shut the Cardinals attack down holding them to 29% shooting for the afternoon and also won the battle of the glass 51-31. On the flip-side, Luther shot 43% that included a 10-of-19 performance from behind the arch.
Jordan Rubie led a foursome of double digits scorers. Rubie had 17 points, one shy of her season high.
Kristen Elliott was next with 12, while both
Megan Miller and
Amelia Solum both had 10.
Kailey Jones,
Lizzie Kauls,
Kate Hosking and
Chelin Isaacson were all credited with seven points. Jones led all rebounders with a season high 11, nine that came on the defensive glass.
St. Mary's was led by Brooklyn Paulson who led all scorers with 19 points. Macey Petron came off the bench and also tallied double figures with 11.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 3-5, while St. Mary's fell to 2-3.
Luther will return to American Rivers Conference Action this coming Wednesday, Dec. 1. The Norse will travel to nationally ranked No. 12 Wartburg College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
