Luther traveled to Coe College this afternoon and were defeated by a final of 63-7. Norse quarterback
Alex Griffeth, who got his first collegiate start today, scored on a one-yard plunge with 2:56 left in the game. The touchdown capped off a 12-play drive that convered 75 yards.
Griffeth finished the afternoon 15-of-30 for 123 yards and threw four interceptions.
Andre Atkins led the receiving corp with 4 recptions for 56 yards.
Vershon Brooks carried the football 24 times for 67 yards and also had 122 yards on eight kick-off returns.
Dakota Wright led the defensive unit with seven tackles.
Sam Bundy was next with six, while both
Zach Olson and
Jeremy Whalen were both credited with five.
The loss gives Luther an A-R-C record of 0-6, 0-8 overall. Coe improved to 3-2 in league play, 5-2 overall.
One week from today Luther will wrap up its home schedule. The Norse will host undefeated and nationally ranked No. 10 Central College. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Carlson Stadium.
