DECORAH, Iowa - Luther volleyball had their home opener match today against Buena Vista University. The Norse were swept by the Beavers 0-3 (20-25, 17-25, 16-25).
In the first set, junior Ruby Gerhard recorded her 500th career kill wearing a Norse jersey. The Beavers were strong at the net hitting a 0.250 average and and recording 3 blocks and 7 aces. The offensive leaders on the books for the Norse were Gerhard with 8 kills followed by Lisa Schiltgen with 5 and Kylie Zeigler with 3 all set up by the setter Iris Elias who led the team with 20 assists.
The Luther Norse will play again and return home on Tuesday, Sept. 29 where they will take on the Eagles of Faith Baptist Bible College at 6:00 p.m.
