For the first time since 2011 the Luther College women's tennis team has advanced to the second round of the NCAA III National Tournament. This morning, the Norse defeated Illinois Institute of Technology 4-0, in a first round match held in St. Peter, Minn., at Gustavus Adolphus College.
The Norse won the doubles point thanks to victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
Lena Lichau and
Abby Struble posted a (6-1) win at No. 2, and
Abby Ostermann and
Liselot van Den Broek won at No. 3 (6-0).
In singles, Lichau won at No. 2 (6-1, 6-0),
Allie Christensen won at No. 3 (6-3, 6-0), and van Den Broek secured the victory with a (6-2, 6-3) win at No. 6.
