DECORAH, Iowa – The Luther women's tennis team (15-8), ranked no. 64 by the ITA, is back in the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the 19
th time in program history. They earned the automatic bid after defeating Coe College (4-3) on Saturday, April 25 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) tournament championship. The Norse won their 12
th A-R-C Tournament title. The regional will take place in St. Peter, Minn. at Gustavus Adolphus College May 8-9.
Luther will take on Illinois Tech on Friday, May 8 at 10 a.m. The Scarlet Hawks won the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) championship on Sunday defeating Edgewood University (4-2). This is just their second NCAA tournament berth in program history. Illinois Tech comes into the tournament 11-9 overall. The match will mark the first ever meeting between the two teams.
The regional also features no. 1 UChicago (16-4), no. 20 Gustavus Adolphus (29-5), no. 28 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (20-2), and the University of Wisconsin-Superior (19-7).
