The Luther College men's tennis team, ranked No. 41 by the ITA in the NCAA III, posted its 19th win against three losses this afternoon in Rock Island, Ill. Luther defeated Augustana College by a final of 6-1. The Norse swept doubles and won five of six singles matches to secure the victory.
In doubles,
Joao Benvenutti and
Abhay Chhabra won at No. 1 (6-2).
Rhys Biro-Moore and
Jake Nelson posted a (6-0) win at No. 2
Juan Hernandez Herrera and
Geoffrey Stoughton won (6-2) at No. 3.
In singles Benvenutti at No. 1, Chhabra at No. 3, Biro-Moore at No. 5 and Nelson at No. 6 all won in straight sets.
Gerardo Ramirez Mainou defeated Santiago Lazo in three sets (5-7, 6-4, 10-8) at No. 4.

The American Rivers Conference Dual Meet Tournament is next, with the winner earning the league's automatic berth to the 2026 Men's NCAA III Tennis Tournament. Luther, the No. 1 seed of the six-team tournament, will host the winner of No. 4 Central and No. 5 Loras, on Thursday, April 30 in the semifinals. The first round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday, April 28. Start time for the semifinal match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
