The Luther College women's tennis team, ranked No. 67 by the ITA in the NCAA III, wrapped up its regular season schedule with a home match against Augustana College (IL). This match was moved indoors to the Robert and Ann Naslund Sports and Recreation Center due to high winds and extremely cold temperatures. The Norse won the match 6-1, snapping a four-match losing streak, and improved to 13-8 for the year.
The Norse swept doubles and won five of six singles matches en route to the victory. The lone point for the Vikings came at No. 4 singles when
Julianna Mascardo had to retire from the match early in the first set.
Lena Lichau at No. 2,
Allie Christensen at No. 3,
Rafaela Queiroga Tavares at No. 5 and
Ale Villanueva at No. 6, all won in straight sets.
Abby Ostermann won a hard fought victory at No. 1 ove Hannah Colbert (4-6, 6-2, 10-7).
In doubles, Christensen and Mascardo won at No. 1 (6-4), Lichau and
Abby Struble won at No. 2 (6-3), and Ostermann and
Liselot van Den Broek won at No. 3 (6-2).

Up next, the American Rivers Conferenc Women's Tennis Dual Tournament. The winner of this six-team tournament will earn the league's automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA III Women's Tennis Championships. Luther, the No. 1 seed, will face the winner of one the two quarterfinal matches that will take place on Tuesday, April 21. The Norse will face either the No. 4 seed University of Dubuque, or the No. 5 seed Central College, at home on Thursday, April 23 at 4 p.m. The championship match will take place on Saturday, April 25 at the highest seeded team remaining.
