The Luther College men's tennis team, ranked No. 48 by the ITA in the NCAA III, rolled to a 7-0 victory over the University of Dubuque this afternoon. This match was moved indoors to the Robert and Ann Naslund Sports and Recreation Center due to heavy rain in the area.
The Norse dropped seven games while sweeping doubles and won all six singles matches in straight sets.Â
In doubles,
Joao Benvenutti and
Geoffrey Stoughton won at No. 1 (6-4).
Rhys Biro-Moore and
Jake Nelson posted a (6-3) win at No. 2.
Jake Althaus and
Juan Hernandez Herrera won at No. 3 (6-0).
In singles, Benvenutti won at No. 1 (6-0, 6-2), Nelson won at No. 2 (6-4, 6-4),
Dikshan Chhikara won at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1), Stoughton won at No. 4 (6-1, 6-2),
Gregor Gottein won at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0), and Althaus won at No. 6 (6-2, 6-1).
