The Luther College women's tennis team kick-off its spring schedule with a 5-2 victory over Macalester College this afternoon in Rochester, Minn. The Norse won two of three matches in doubles and four of six singles matches to secure their 10th win of the year.
In doubles, the No. 2 duo of
Lena Lichau and
Abby Struble, plus the duo of
Avery Schifsky-Seguin and
Liselot van Den Broek at No. 3, both won (6-1).
Allie Christensen and
Abby Ostermann at No. 1 were defeated (6-3).
Lichau at No. 3 (6-3, 6-4),
Rafaela Queiroga Tavares at No. 4 (6-1, 6-4),
Julianna Mascardo at No. 5 (6-2, 6-0) and
Ale Villanueva at No. 6 (6-2, 6-2) all won in straight sets in singles action.

Up next, Luther will be making its annual spring trip to the USTA National Campus Team USA in Orlando, Florida. The Norse will play four matches from March 22-26.
