EUREKA, Mo. – The Luther softball team swept the two-game series against Webster 9-0 and 9-6 on Saturday, Mar. 7. In the series the Norse recorded 20 hits improving to 3-3 overall.
Game 1: Luther 9, Webster 0
Scoreless after three, the Norse recorded runs two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, one in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Mya Larsen led the offense going 2-5 at the plate with three runs.
Raven Allen,
Madi Elwood,
Avery Nehring, Kari Welster and
Ashley Russell had one rbi each.
Isabelle Staton pitched a complete game allowing four hits along with four strikeouts.
The Norse pick up their first shutout win of the season.
Game 2: Luther 9, Webster 6
The Norse offense scored 9 runs on 13 hits with a team batting average of .394. The Gorlocks scored 6 runs on 10 hits. Elwood was 3-4 with four rbi.
Evie Strigel also hit 3-4 and
Mya Larsen was 2-4. Nehring hit her first home run of the season in the top of the fifth inning.
Alexa Stevermer won her first game of the season while recording seven strikeouts.
This was the first series against Webster in program history.
