The Luther College softball team began its season at the RCTC Dome located in Rochester, Minnesota. The Norse have been hosting the Dome Games since 2013 and this year will be the final year, as the dome will not be replaced next season. The dome has been good to the Norse. Entering the 2026 games Luther has posted a record of 69-11 for a winning percentage of 86 percent.
Today, the Norse lost two, dropping a 4-3 decision to Carleton College in eight, and lost to St. Catherine University 6-1.
In game one, both teams scored twice in the fifth and once in the seventh.
Raven Allen gave the Norse a short lived lead with a solo home run in the top of the seventh. The Knights responded with a run in the bottom of the frame that sent the game into the international tie-breaker, where each team begins the extra frame with a runner on second base.
In the 8th, Luther had the bases loaded with not outs and failed to score. Carleton answered with a game winning single to center field.

In game two, St. Kate's scored six runs on 10 hits, scoring twice in the second, fourth and fifth frames.
Kari Welter drove in the lone Norse run in the third on a single to right field that scored pinch runner Libby Bydg. Welter and Chloe wager both had two hits.

Luther will wrap up the Dome games tomorrow. The Norse will face UW-Stout at 11 a.m., followed by a game against Macalester College at 1 p.m.
