Luther posted a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Grinnell College this afternoon in the first of two matches at the Warhawk Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater in Lake Geneva, Wis. The win snapped a three-match losing streak to the Pioneers and increased the Norse dual meet record to 2-1.
The Norse won the doubles point thanks to a (6-2) win at No. 1 by
Joao Benvenutti and
Abhay Chhabra, and by
Gregor Gottein and
Jake Nelson at No. 2 (6-1).Â
In singles, the Pioneers held a 3-2 advantage with teh No. 5 and No. 6 matches still in progress.
Rhys Biro-Moore leveled the score with a three set win at No. 5 (7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 10-0). Nelson at No. 6 followed with a tie breaker win (2-6, 7-5, 10-6).Â
