The Luther College women's basketball team was defeated by the University of Dubuque tonight at the Stoltz Sports Center by a final of 63-60. Trailing the Spartans after three quarters, the Norse battled back and put together a 16-7 run in the fourth frame and took their first lead of the game (57-54) with 5:13 left on the clock. The Spartans responded with a 9-3 run of their own down the stretch that included two free throws with four seconds left in the game by Avery Green that sealed the victory.

Natalie Beaver who had a game high 23 points.
Abigail Panka and
Haylie Strum tallied double digits as well with 15 and 14 respectively.
The Spartans were led by Christina Simonetti who had a double-double thanks to 18 points and 10 rebounds. Grace Brimley with 15, Lilly Craig with 10 and Taylor Martin with 10, completed the Spartans double figure scorers.
The victory snapped a 14-game losing streak for the Spartans who are now 3-12 in the A-R-C, 5-19 overall. Luther lost its second in a row but remains tied for fourth place in the A-R-C standings with Simpson College at 8-7. The Norse are 12-12 overall.
Luther, who has already qualified for the A-R-C six team tournament, will wrap up its regular season schedule at Central College (6-9, 11-3) on Saturday, Feb. 21. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
