DECORAH, Iowa – Haylie Strum of women's basketball and Bryce McDonough of men's wrestling were named the December LetterWërks Athletes of the Month on Thursday.
 
In six games, Strum scored 103 points averaging 17.2 points per game. She also had 32 rebounds, 24 assists, 13 steals and six blocks. Strum had a 52.8 field goal percentage across the month.
 
McDonough was unbeaten at 7-0 in seven duals with four wins by tech falls, two falls and one decision. During the month he was ranked the no. 6 wrestler at 174 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA). He went 4-0 at the Gator "Boots" Duals for the fourth straight year.
 
The LetterWërks Athlete of the Month award looks to honor and highlight Luther student-athlete achievements throughout a given month of competition.
