CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Three Luther athletes received American Rivers Conference Performer of the week honors including
Annika Elco of women's track and field,
Noelle Gallucci of women's swimming and diving and
Colin Halverson of men's swimming and diving.
Elco earned the honors after re-writing the history books with two new school records. At the Cornell Winter Classic on Friday, Dec. 5 she broke her own record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.26. The following day she set a new record in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.55 at the Carthage Forever Red Alumni Classic on Saturday, Dec. 6. The previous record of 8.58 by Kristin Gerzema stood since 2000.
Gallucci finished fifth on the 1-meter board at the Grinnell Diving Invite with a score of 333.95 on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Halverson and the men's divers won the Grinnell Diving Invite as he won both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. His scores were 379.35 on 1-meter and 434.20 on the 3-meter.
