DECORAH, Iowa – The Luther women's basketball team led wire-to-wire to defeat Central 79-61.
Natalie Beaver and
Haylie Strum both scored 20 points as the Norse improve to 7-7 overall and 3-2 in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C).
The Norse jumped out to a 16-1 run to start the game and never looked back. In the second quarter, Luther had a 19-15 lead but that was the closet Central would get.
The Norse outscored the Dutch in every quarter with a field goal percentage of 44.3 percent for the game. In the second and third quarters Luther shot 50 percent from the floor.
Abigail Panka recorded 10 points as the game saw nine different players score for the Norse.
Ellie McMann led the team in rebounds with eight.
Central is 7-7 overall and 2-3 in the A-R-C. McKenzie Snook led the Dutch with 13 points.
Luther is back at home on Wednesday, Jan. 14 versus Loras at 5:30 p.m.
