ROCKFORD, Ill. - Six different players scored in the Luther women's soccer 7-0 rout of Rockford University. The Norse led the Regents 2-0 at halftime and scored another five goals in the second half. It was the first ever meeting between the two teams. Luther improves to 3-0-1 overall.
Ellie Dueland scored the game winning goal in the 33rd minute assisted by
Allison Dobbins. Ten minutes later, Dobbins scored with Dueland credited with the assist for a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Lauren Linkletter scored back-to-back goals in the 57th and 63rd minute assisted by
Sofia Colavita and
Vera Tanas. Then off the corner kick in the 67th minute,
Kate Van Deventer scored her first of the season.
The final two goals of the night were from
Rose Anderson and
Kjersten Olson scoring 1 minute and 18 seconds apart.
Linkletter led the team with two goals for her second multi-goal game of the season. She leads the team with four goals. Dueland, Van Deventer, and Olson recorded their first career goals.
Rylie Bucklin made two saves and getting her first career minutes in goal was
Alannah McKibben.
The Norse out shot the Regents 35-3 with 23 on frame.
The Norse will continue their trip on the road with a game at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. in Platteville, Wis.
