Luther wrapped up its non-conference schedule this afternoon in New Ulm, Minn. The Knights of Martin Luther College defeated the Norse 34-0. The Knights led 24-0 at halftime and added 10 more points in the fourth frame en route to the final score.
The Knights held the Norse to 126 yards of total offense, while producing 391 yards of their own. The Knights controlled the football the entire game winning the time of possession battle 41:56 to 18:04.
Norse quarterbacks
Brett Liljedahl and
Christian Hiner combined for an 11-of-39 performance for 121 yards and both threw two interceptions.Â
Nick Gonzalez led the receiving corps with three catches, while both
Bryce Buckley and
Anthony Thornton were credited with two.
Tyler Ragan was credited with a game high 12 tackles.
Conor Baesemann had eight, while
Karl Fuhrman, Danny Milner and
Ryan Hilby all had seven.

Luther returns home next Saturday, Sept. 20, when it will begin its final year in the American Rivers Conference hosting Central College. The Dutch enter the game (2-0) after defeating Illinois Wesleyan (27-18) and No. 20 Randolph-Macon (VA) 10-0 this afternoon in Pella, Iowa. Kick-off on Saturday will take place at 1 p.m.
