ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - The Luther volleyball team wrapped up opening weekend at the College of St. Benedict tournament with a 2-2 overall record. In the first match of the day the Norse fell to host St. Benedict in four sets followed by a three set loss to the University of Minnesota Morris.

The Bennies took the first two sets before the Norse bounced back in the third. In the fourth set, it was all tied up at 24 but the Bennies captured the final two points to win the match. Each team had 10 service aces. Luther edged St. Benedict in blocking 5-4.
Lindsay Hanson and
Ruby Gerhard had 11 kills.
Addie Leuthner recorded a double-double with 17 assists and 13 digs.
Iris Elias also had a double-double with 15 assists and 12 digs.
Game 2: Luther 0, University of Minnesota Morris 3
The Cougars hit .200 in the match to get the sweep over the Norse. UM-Morris had 18 service aces. Hanson led the team with seven kills. Elias had 10 assists. Three players had double-digit digs Leuthner (12), Hanson (10) and
Victoria Gomez (10).
Up next Luther will take on St. Scholastica at the Sugar Loaf Classic hosted by St. Mary's (MN) on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in Winona, Minn.
