LINCOLN, Neb. - The Luther softball team split with Nebraska Wesleayn 4-3, 3-4 in the regular season finale. The Norse finished the season with an 8-8 record in the American Rivers Conference earning the no. 6 seed for the
A-R-C Softball Touranment.
Game 1: Luther 4, Nebraska Wesleyan 3
Luther scored four runs on nine hits with two runs in the third, one in fifth and one in the sixth. Chloe Wanger recorded the game winning hit with a solo home run in the sixth.
The Norse offense hit five doubles in the game including
Evie Strigel leading the team with two while
Madi Elwood,
Delaney Martinez-Wilson and
Mya Larsen each with one. Strigel was 2-for-3 at the plate.
Olivia Engler picked up her 13th win in the circle allowing three hits, three runs, three walks and struck out three.
Game 2: Nebraska Wesleyan 4, Luther 3
The Norse scored three runs on eight hits with one in the first and two in the fourth. The Prairie Wolves won the game in the fifth inning off of an rbi single.
Martinez-Wilson and Wagner were both 2-for-4 with an rbi each. Larsen was also credited with an rbi.
Luther finishes the regular season 23-17 overall.

The Norse will take on the no. 3 seed Nebraska Wesleyan in the opening round of A-R-C Tournament on Friday, May 9 at 8 p.m. in Indianola, Iowa. The tournament is hosted by Simpson who secured the no. 1 seed.
